She finally arrived in Tel Aviv. Cold northern city didn't let her go and was wrapping her into viscous greyness. She was planing this trip in January much earlier before, but sudden breath of spring air came accidentally. She ordered me as a boudoir photographer, so the date and the place - everything was agreed. A few days after the landing in our sunny city, she was waiting in a line for an ice cream. I didn't notice her immediately. People around was making a little crowd. French chanson songs was playing in the columns of the kiosk. I noticed a little black dog in hands of the girl. She tucked hair behind her ear. "Oh, Jane! How are you?" Our simple dialogue didn't last for long, 'cause of noise of crowd around. Jane went to the hotel's direction, and I hurried to the cinema theater to watch a musical. Next morning, I went to buy flowers. On the way to the market I decided to visit one vintage bookstore and bought an album with erotic drawings and engravings of Amos Zelikson. After, while I was drinking coffee in the cafe of my friends, I realized, that I had forgotten to buy flowers. "There's fresh Ranunculus in the vase", I thought and continued quite dialogue with a stranger at the next table.
How do you manage to create a connection, a bond with the model on a set like this and is it more difficult than working on other sets?
Intimate photographing is difficult process, ‘cause a model needs to lose awareness of the barrier, that she doesn't do anything to be ashamed, that person in front of her is only a person with a camera. Photographer doesn't pretend for more intimacy between them. Must occur the trust between model and photographer, as in any good relationships. It’s important to me when a model feels comfortable, I like to shoot natural poses. To defuse the situation, photographer must turn on atmospheric music and just chat with the model, distracting her.
What's your best tip for a woman considering booking herself a shoot like this?
Imagine that you fell in love with Him. Or you’re already felt in love. Or you just need a glass of wine :) Positive and open emotions are most important parts of “boudoir” session. Some beautiful lingerie and healthy well-being ... everything else photographer will paint with lights and shadows.
What are you hoping to achieve with your two day photoshoot this time in Israel?
The goal of this project is to show women that there is no need to be ashamed of their body since every woman is beautiful regardless of her body shape.
I like endless sources of inspiration, mostly I find when I travel abroad. Esthetics always is a supreme value. We'd organized the inspirational wedding shooting in sunny Tel Aviv for KIM Production and Design. Organic elegance is a trend that has taken the wedding world by storm and I'm loving it every single second. I'm very thankful for that beautiful collaboration with Suzy Ariel. We were celebrating romantic story in very elegance spot with the scent of vintage - Allenby Farm. Tables was decorated with silver and crystal, with awesome plates and natural flowers. Bride and groom was looked very soft and natural. Now it's a pleasure to look at pictures.
