צילומי בודואר באווירה אינטימית

"We're extremely fortunate to collaborate with the photographer Anna Semenova. She will come to visit Israel soon, with #HerBodyElegance project that has a flavor of overseas, but it will be interesting for local beauties. Anna specializes in "boudoir photography" and we can't wait for our special project." - Luba Sharaga, Urban Brides Magazine.
Tell us a bit about yourself, about your work.
I’m in love with life. I'm photographer enthusiast with a kind heart and readiness to any positive adventures. Constantly I live in Kiev, Ukraine, but mostly I organize intimate photo sessions for ladies and couples abroad. I’m inspired with new places, fond of soulmates meetings. My first conscious frame was made by analogue film camera in the age of 13 and it became a part of me. I started taking pictures of women’ portraits 7 years ago. At the start it was only classical portraits, after some time my bedroom became a platform for first intimate “boudoir” shots. I love to shoot with analogue camera, as it creates a certain atmosphere, which you doesn’t transmit using digital photography.
How did you choose Israel from all the places in the world? Please describe your last visit here.
There’re places which you aspire intuitively. You just feel that have a need to get there. And when you finally get to this place, you feel this is your Place. First time I visited Israel in February, I came to my close friend. Walking through the night Jaffa, fantastic concert of Avishai Cohen Trio, cold quarters of Jerusalem and warming warm tea and Knafeh, meetings and photography in Tel Aviv ... briefly about the first visit.

What do you like more about Israel and how are Israeli women different from your local women?
I feel the rhythm of powerful energy and richness in cultural terms in Israel. Similarly in the Israeli woman I feel open and strong character. I'm attracted to their eyes, which felt with kind and warm sadness, big soft lips and smiles. And I just love the dark-skinned brunettes, of which there are many.

What attracted to to intimate sessions in the first place?
I like the psychological aspect of intimate sessions. After shootings with me, women are more confident in their appearance, I like to show the way how they can be sensual.

Do you think that it's a trend or is it a genre that's here to stay? Do you find that people's approach regarding intimate shoots becoming more liberal?
Intimate “boudoir” photography is not a new genre, it is included into the art photography for a long time. My favorite photographers, that taken pictures of women’ sensuality are still Helmut Newton and Peter Lindbergh. Nowadays you can be captured with this genre not only because you’re a fashion model. We had a sexual revolution, women became more open and with willing to experiment, body became not so intimate as it was in the past. We often see posters or advertising with nude body and I think it can disturb only very religious communities. No one will be surprised nudity even more.

How do you manage to create a connection, a bond with the model on a set like this and is it more difficult than working on other sets?

Intimate photographing is difficult process, ‘cause a model needs to lose awareness of the barrier, that she doesn't do anything to be ashamed, that person in front of her is only a person with a camera. Photographer doesn't pretend for more intimacy between them. Must occur the trust between model and photographer, as in any good relationships. It’s important to me when a model feels comfortable, I like to shoot natural poses. To defuse the situation, photographer must turn on atmospheric music and just chat with the model, distracting her.

What's your best tip for a woman considering booking herself a shoot like this?
Imagine that you fell in love with Him. Or you’re already felt in love. Or you just need a glass of wine :) Positive and open emotions are most important parts of “boudoir” session. Some beautiful lingerie and healthy well-being ... everything else photographer will paint with lights and shadows.

What are you hoping to achieve with your two day photoshoot this time in Israel?
The goal of this project is to show women that there is no need to be ashamed of their body since every woman is beautiful regardless of her body shape.
